Learn more about how our organization operates. AFRIQAID works closely with other nonprofit organizations in both nations giving their support and those that receive it. In the spirit of transparency, we have provided detailed examples of how we work alongside generous organizations and individuals.
In Countries That Give
We work closely with non-government organizations (NGOs) involved in the health care field, coordinating shipments and proper equipment usage. For example, Mazanga, an NGO based in Hyeres, France, gathers and stores medical equipment until there is enough to fill a container (mostly 40-foot containers) to be shipped to Africa.
In other instances, generous individual donors have collected wheelchairs, walkers, beds, and other necessary supplies from nursing homes and donated them to us. Whether the equipment is coming from an organization or individual, we pay for shipping, handling, and sometimes storage.
In Countries that Receive
Here, we work with local nonprofits that are well established and directly involved in the field of public health. These NGOs already have exemptions and can receive the equipment without paying for duty or customs. Consequently, working with these organizations enables us to distribute equipment to various locations with ease and accountability.
